Here you will find a list of relatives who may be entitled to receive a payout from an unclaimed estate.
The Bona Vacantia List issued by the UK government lists all the unclaimed estates of those who died intestate in the last 30 years. The list is publically available and anyone who can proof they are a close enough relative to the deceased can make a claim on their estate.
See our Guide to Claiming to see which relatives qualify.
While any entitled relative can make a claim, most heirs do not know that they are eligible to inherit. Indeed, many are not even aware of their relationship with the deceased.
In recent years heir hunting companies have sprung up and started actively seeking entitled relatives and helping them to claim. However, as finding relatives is an expensive business, these companies will take a large share of any estate as payment for their services.
The Bona Vacantia Heirs’ List aims to help relatives identify their entitlement to claim an estate. We have used publically-available resources to identify relatives who may be entitled to a share in each estate. But, unlike the heir hunting companies, we are not wasting resources by tracing the current whereabouts of the heirs.
We have made The List available publically on this site and, for a small admin fee, will provide all details we have about the relationship between the deceased and the heir.
If you think you may be entitled to make a claim, see out Guide to Claiming for more details.
